Engage NEET

Engage NEET

Now in its third year, the Engage NEET project was set up jointly by Maidstone Borough Council and Tomorrow’s People to support marginalised young people aged 16-24 not currently in education, training or employment.

The Tomorrow’s People team work on an intensive 1:1 basis with each young person, supporting the individual to create a plan of action meaning that they can feel fully involved with the decisions they are making whilst receiving regular guidance and support to progress into their chosen field of work or study.

Support is given to create CVs and apply for work, education, training and other support services. The team also provide interview coaching plus anything else that will help each person to gain confidence and qualifications.

The programme has been designed to engage with young people who may have complex challenges and barriers stopping them from achieving their aspirations. A holistic approach has meant the team is able to deal with individual problems that can have an impact on the ability to sustain work or complete training or education.
