On 30 October the culmination of a year’s hard work was celebrated at the Tomorrow’s People Annual Awards for Achievement. The event was attended by the short-listed candidates, their guests and advisers, as well as the Tomorrow’s People staff, Board and patrons, corporate supporters and sponsors.

Charity Launches Employment Support via Gp Surgeries and Health Centres in Newcastle and North Tyneside
GP practices and health centres in Newcastle and North Tyneside are participating in new projects enabling a specialist employment adviser to be placed within doctors’ and health centre surgeries to help patients get back into work, education or training.

New Funding Helps People Leaving Prison Rebuild Their Lives
A project in South Sefton, Merseyside, helping people who have been in prison or who have served a community sentence to rebuild their lives and find jobs, education or training has been extended.
This follows a new funding agreement for the 'Getting Sefton Working' project run by employment charity, Tomorrow's People. The Liverpool Paradise Foundation, set up to support good causes in Merseyside is providing £45,000 over a period of three years. A further £70,000 of European Social Fund support has also been provided by the Government Office for the North West.

Employment Charity Head Named as a Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex
The Chief Executive of national employment charity Tomorrow’s People, Debbie Scott, has been appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex.
Debbie is one of seven Deputy Lieutenants appointed in August 2007. They will join 41 other Deputy Lieutenants in supporting the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, Mrs Phyllida Stewart-Roberts, in carrying out her duties.

Charity Extends Employment Programme for Hard to Reach Young People in UK
Employment charity Tomorrow’s People is extending ‘Working It Out,’ a programme incorporating community challenges, to help hard-to-reach young people into work, education or training.
The programme has been running in Glasgow since 2004 and is now launching in Brighton, Liverpool and Plymouth to help socially-excluded young people aged 16-24 overcome personal, social and economic barriers.

Employment charity Tomorrow’s People has launched the first of a series of ‘Working It Out’ courses to help hard-to-reach young people in Liverpool into work, education or training.
The programme, which operates in Croxteth and Norris Green, incorporates community challenges and is designed to help socially-excluded young people aged 16-24 overcome personal, social and economic barriers. The programme is funded by theLiverpool Neighbourhood Regeneration Programme (LNRP).

Employment charity, Tomorrow’s People today launches ‘Working It Out,’ a programme incorporating community challenges, to help hard to reach young people in East Sussex into work, education or training. The service in Brighton is an Entry to Employment (e2e) programme helping young people aged 16-24 develop employability skills, life and social skills and gain practical work experience through a series of community challenges.
